Louvred roofs
Opening blades: sun when you want it, shelter when you need it.
What it is
How a louvred roof works
A louvred roof has aluminium blades you open and close with a remote or an app. Open them for sun and breeze, close them and the roof is fully waterproof — a rain sensor closes them for you. Made from Australian aluminium and stainless steel, suited to coastal areas.
Best for
- Entertaining areas used all year
- Coastal homes near salt water
- A premium finish with downlights or RGB lighting
- Spaces next to the house that you do not want to darken
Good to know
- Built-in rain sensor closes the blades automatically — even when you are not home.
- Control it with a remote, or with the app from anywhere.
- Tilt the blades part-way to let the breeze through while keeping the direct sun off.
- Made from Australian aluminium and stainless steel, so it stands up to salt air near the coast.
- Downlights and RGB lighting can be built into the frame.
- Usually freestanding or fixed to the house like an attached patio, and needs council approval like any roof.

Do I need council approval?
Most builds over 10 m² need a building approval. We draw the plans, get the engineering and lodge the approval for you.
