Carports Browns Plains
Carports in Browns Plains: double, front setback and high-clearance builds under Logan rules.
Your carport in Browns Plains, start to finish
Browns Plains, Regents Park and Heritage Park are full of 1980s and 90s lowset brick homes with a single garage and a driveway out the front. A double carport beside or in front of that garage is one of our most common Logan jobs.
We check your frontage against Logan's front setback rules, then design a carport that fits and lasts.
- One team from quote to handover, no salespeople
- Genuine Colorbond and BlueScope steel, all engineered
- Plans, engineering and approval handled
What's different about building in Browns Plains
Next to the garage
A carport beside the garage roof, tied in neatly, gives you covered parking for two more cars.
Front setback
Logan allows carports forward of the house in many cases. We design to its conditions.
Gable to match
A gable carport can match the pitch of the house for a cleaner look from the street.
Which carport suits your home?
Attached
Fixed to the fascia or a wall of your home. The most common and the best value.
See attached carports →
Flyover
Raised above your gutter for extra height, air flow and a modern look.

Freestanding
Stands on its own posts, anywhere on your block.
See freestanding carports →
Gable & hip
A pitched roof that matches your house. Attached, flyover or freestanding.

Measure your cars with the doors open, then add room for bins, bikes or a boat.
Single carport
One car, with room to open the doors on one side.
Double carport
Two cars side by side — the most common carport.
Long double
Two cars plus a trailer, or a car and a boat.
Caravan cover
Built tall — usually 3.5 to 4.2 m clear for a caravan or motorhome.
Council rules for a carport in Browns Plains
Browns Plains is in the Logan City Council area, under the Logan Planning Scheme 2015 (version 9.2).
- Carports at the front boundary
- Under the Logan Planning Scheme a carport up to 6 m × 6 m and 3.5 m high can be built right up to the front boundary without a referral application, as long as it stays fully open apart from where it attaches at the back. That is the classic double carport in front of a garage, and it is why we so often quote 6 × 6 in Logan.
- Acreage setbacks
- On acreage, rural residential and emerging community land the road clearance is 10 m and side and rear 3 m, so big sheds and carports sit back from the road.
- Flood and steep land
- In a mapped flood area a carport roof sits above the defined flood level unless an engineer certifies it. On slopes of 12% or more a geotechnical report is needed. Both are in the overlay maps we check before quoting.
