Once the approval is through and the materials are booked, the build itself is quick. These are the things that keep it that way.
Lights, fans and power
If you want downlights or a ceiling fan in an insulated roof, book a licensed electrician to run the cabling while the roof goes on. Doing it later is harder and costs more.
Stormwater
A new roof means new downpipes. Think about where the water should go — into existing stormwater, a tank or a garden — so it does not end up against your house or a neighbour's fence.
Underground services
Post footings go into the ground. We check for pipes and cables before we dig, and a Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) enquiry shows where public services run. Tell us about anything you know is buried, like irrigation or pool plumbing.
Access and space
- Clear a path for materials from the street to the build area
- Move cars, trailers and outdoor furniture out of the way
- Keep pets inside while we work
- Let neighbours know if we need to work near the fence
Estate and body corporate rules
Some estates and body corporates have their own rules about colours, heights and materials. Check yours early — we can include their approval in the plans.
On the day
Materials never sit at your place for more than 14 working days. Weather can move a start date; we keep you updated so there are no surprises.
